New Year’s Resolutions

By Margo Henderson

Every year I focus on what I want to accomplish in the new year.

I try not to make these ideas (resolutions) very hard. I’m not very good about keeping them because I forget after February! However, I think it is good for me to set a goal and work toward it. To do this I have to have written reminders.

Here are the 7 areas in which I want to accomplish something meaningful in the new year.

I am listing a few areas of focus to give you some ideas if you desire. I have these listed by category
so you can fill in with things you think you can do. I have noticed that the adage is true; if you
don’t aim at something you will surely arrive at nothing.
Here are some ideas I’m still tweaking–

Education– Read a book a month. Look for books that someone has recommended to me.

Nutrition: Eat more veggies! (Hard for me) I sometimes don’t eat any for several days!

Exercise: Move my body. Every day. Even when it hurts or is slow.

Finance: Make a million dollars and give it away. (I wanted to check to see if you were still
reading) If you have a million dollars contact me and we can work together.

Personal (me): Get back into playing my piano.

Family: Write more to my grandchildren. Send them crazy stories of their parents.

Spiritual: Read the Bible through again. I try to do this every year. Pick a Bible character and
learn more about them.

What a wonderful opportunity to work toward goals! As I look at the previous year, I realize the things that Jesus helped me get through and things I accomplished. What a joy to live and find new things to do. As long as He gives me breath, I will live in the fullness of His grace and seek ways to honor
Him in all my ways.

Let’s look for ways we can live more fully for Him.
