I’m thinking of doing a small retreat/conference

I’m thinking of doing a small retreat/conference this winter for Moms whose children, (pre-teen, teenage and young adult age), are battling depression, anxiety, and even thoughts of su*cide.

So many parents are informed of the medical side of these issues and they seek answers through medicine, counseling, therapy, and even in-patient care. And rightly so! I’ve been there!
All of these options can be good and necessary parts of healing.

But many doctors and counselors will NOT touch on nor do they even understand that there is also a spiritual side of anxiety, depression, and su*cide.

If you’re a parent of a child who struggles with the darkness of depression, anxiety, and su*cide, then you KNOW EXACTLY what I’m talking about.

You’ve seen the darkness.

You’ve watched it beat your child down into a shell of what he or she used to be.

And I’m finding that even people in the church have no idea how to rise up and stand against a spirit of su*cide. They’ve never been taught how to spiritually battle.

It makes you feel helpless as a parent – especially a mother.

And that’s exactly where Satan wants you- thinking that you’re helpless to battle over your child.

These are spiritual battles just as much as they are physical and ‘mind-battles.’ Perhaps even more so.

So I’m tossing around the idea of a small retreat or day conference just for moms (and grandmoms) to teach them how to rise up with spiritual weapons to fight this Goliath.

Medication can be helpful.
Counseling can be helpful.
Inpatient care can be helpful.

But NO POWER IN HELL can touch a mom who RISES UP in her God-given authority to battle the Spirit of su*cide trying to k*ll her child.

I had to learn about my authority in Christ the hard way.

But you don’t.

I don’t know everything about spiritual warfare over our children. But I can teach what I know.

And I think there are more moms out there whose children are battling than *any* of us realize.

I was having a casual conversation with my mom thi

I was having a casual conversation with my mom this morning about Christmas. 🎄

I told her- “Do you know that I cannot remember one single Christmas gift that my grandparents, on either side, gave me when I was a child?”

Y’all, I’m 53 years old. You would think I could remember at least one Christmas gift from them.

I don’t. Not even one.

But, do you know what I *do* remember? I remember experiences with them.

I remember when my Mema and Papa took all of us grandchildren to the mountains in the fall. For a while, they did it every year.

And I remember when my grandmother, my “Goldiemom,” took me on a trip when I was 12 - just me and her.

I just think it’s wild how I cannot remember any of their Christmas gifts to me.
I’m sure they got me very nice things each year under the tree, and probably gave a lot of thought to the toys they picked out for me.

But I have no memory of even one gift.

I only remember the experiences with my grandparents.
The memories of trips and TIME with them and with my cousins are forever engraved in my mind. ❤️

All of my grandparents have passed on to Heaven, so I hold all those memories close these days. 🫶

So, if you have little ones in your life, don’t fret so much over the Christmas gifts this year. Gifts are nice and it’s always fun to see their faces light up when they open a gift! I always love it!

But plan some experiences in 2025 and give them the gift of your TIME.

The batteries will eventually run down.
The toy will eventually find its way to the bottom of the toy box.

But it’s those special times with you that they will likely remember most when you’re gone.
