Meet Our Founder

Lorie Newman is a woman making a difference.

Lorie and her husband are co-founders of Anointed Life Christian Equipping, where Lorie has served as President since its inception in 2023. She has led Bible Studies and Ministry Events for over 25 years and now leads Spiritual Warfare Retreats, Conferences, and Mentoring Events through ALCE.

She has worked with various Christian ministries such as FamilyLife Today’s Hope For Orphans, Children’s HopeChest, and Orbie for Orphans. Many who know her say Lorie’s life encompasses Matthew 25 where Jesus talks about feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, clothing the naked, inviting the stranger, and ministering to the prisoner. Her heart beats for the needy.

Lorie and her husband were married in 1991 and have eight children, six biological and two adopted. She enjoys gardening, writing, and spending time with her ever-growing number of grandchildren on her homestead near Coastal Georgia.

Margo Henderson, Treasurer

Margo Henderson is a founding board member and treasurer. She enjoys teaching young women in Bible study weekly and organizing small groups for discipleship. Margo has been on countless international and local mission trips. She has been active on several boards as a consultant in ministry.

She is a wife, mother, and grandmother and lives in Augusta, GA. Margo is a retired nurse practitioner. Her hobbies are sewing, quilting, and music.

Leah Stirewalt, Secretary

Leah is a founding Board member and has served in the Secretary position since its inception, where she loves utilizing her gifts of organization and administration. With over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit industry, both in paid and volunteer positions, she has found this experience especially helpful in the early years of Anointed Life Christian Equipping, Inc. Additionally, her passion to see people educated in the authority offered to all by God through Jesus and by the power of Holy Spirit aligns beautifully with the ministry’s mission and vision.

In addition to her volunteer work with ALCE, she stays busy raising her youngest four adopted children, all of whom are still at home, as a twice-widowed solo parent living in North Carolina.

Annie Martin, Member-at-Large

Annie is a lifelong Georgian and currently lives in Augusta with her husband, Jamie, and their two teenage children. She has been deeply rooted in and a passionate teacher of God’s Word in various capacities for over 20 years. She is affiliated with several prayer networks including PrayGeorgia. Annie is also a trained Deliverance Minister and currently ministering with Tribe Activation. After attending Lorie’s very first Spiritual Warfare Retreat, Annie came home with fire in her bones and an understanding of her authority in Christ that rocked not only her life, but her family as well.

She is a member of the board for Anointed Life because she believes in the ministry and mission of equipping every follower of Jesus to walk in their true identity.

Kelly Monroe, Member-at-Large

Kelly Monroe is a dedicated servant leader with a longstanding commitment to Christian ministry. With years of volunteer experience in faith-based service, Kelly has a deep passion for equipping families, especially mothers, in the area of spiritual warfare on behalf of their children. Her background in mental health, combined with her compassionate heart, drives her desire to see emotional and spiritual healing for the hurting. Kelly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and has completed graduate coursework towards a Master’s in counseling, equipping her with the tools to support individuals and families with both empathy and insight. As a Board member, Kelly offers both spiritual and practical guidance that aligns with the ministry’s mission.

Kelly is married to her husband Brian. They are the parents of two adult children and grandparents to one cherished grandchild.
