Anointed Life Christian Equipping

Anointed Life Christian Equipping provides Christ-centered equipping and teaching for individuals, couples, families, and groups in a respite setting with the intention of spiritual growth, spiritual renewal, and soul care.

About the Ministry

For nearly two decades of their marriage, Lorie and Duane Newman dreamed of operating a Christian Equipping Center where Christian families, pastors, and lay-leaders could come and receive teaching, equipping, and soul refreshment. Their large family of eight children, six biological and two adopted, also gave them a heart to use this ‘dream center’ to minister to adoptive and foster families like their own.

Then, in 2018, their close-knit family experienced a devastating tragedy. Daniel, Lorie and Duane’s 15-year-old Liberian son, committed suicide in September of that year.

Daniel’s suicide rocked their Christian world and opened their eyes to the reality of unseen spiritual warfare and the battles we face as families. As a result, the Equipping Center dream began to take on a totally different focus as the Lord taught them how to war with spiritual weapons.

Although Lorie and Duane were both raised in Christian homes and had been active in mainstream church all their lives, neither of them remember any instruction on demonic oppression or how to combat it with weapons of spiritual warfare. But after Daniel’s death, they clearly knew . . . It. Is. Real.

In Lorie’s Words,

“Daniel’s suicide changed everything for me. That was the day Satan thought he’d won. That was the day a hot, holy righteous rage began to rise inside me over how the devil had lied to Daniel and convinced him that his life was worthless. And that was the day I decided to wake up each morning of my life and make the devil regret the day he EVER pointed a sword at my family.”

In the weeks and months following Daniel’s suicide, Lorie learned very quickly about Spiritual Warfare from the Bible. As she studied God’s Word and received teachings from mentors and other authors, she always chased the teachings straight back to the Bible. God put her on a “rocket ship” of learning about weapons of spiritual warfare.

As Lorie continued to learn and use her authority and identity to war in the spirit, mothers began to contact her asking her to teach them about spiritual warfare. So, in 2022, she gathered a small group of women at a retreat center in Savannah, Georgia, for what she thought would be a one-time retreat for a few of the women who had inquired about how to war for their families. That retreat led to another retreat . . . and another . . . and another. After nearly a dozen retreats, Lorie realized that spiritual warfare equipping for mothers and grandmothers was desperately needed.

That’s when she and Duane started the process of filing for nonprofit status so that people could give monetarily toward the ministry efforts, including scholarships for women who wanted to attend a retreat but could not afford to do so. Anointed Life Christian Equipping, Incorporated received approval as an official 501c3 nonprofit in September 2023.

Currently, Anointed Life Christian Equipping provides Christ-centered teaching, equipping and mentoring to women, couples and individuals in a relaxed setting through retreats, day conferences, and workshops. Events take place in churches and retreat centers for larger groups, and even in host homes for smaller groups.

Casting the Vision

As our nonprofit continues to grow, we are believing in a God-sized dream for a large campus Equipping and Teaching Center of our very own!

We envision our future campus to be a place of teaching in a relaxed setting where families, parents, pastors, missionaries, students, and Christian lay-persons can get away from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy nature as they are equipped and refreshed through relevant teachings, worship, and even deliverance.

The dream includes a large acreage campus with:

  • Cabins
  • Prayer Gardens/Prayer walks
  • Large Lodge/meeting center
  • Recreation facilities
  • Classrooms
  • Resource Library
  • Dining Hall
  • Campground
  • Chapel

This Equipping Center will further our mission of advancing the Kingdom of Christ by providing a central place for Christian individuals, families, and large or small groups, to come for equipping, teaching, mentoring, and soul-refreshment.

You can sow into our God-sized dream monetarily through our donation link and also prayerfully through believing with us in God’s provision over this ministry expansion.
